“Economic Outlook: Will this year Trump last year?”
Sal Guatieri has been a popular return speaker at Confederation Club luncheons for many years. In addition to commenting on the federal and provincial budgets, housing markets and energy prices, the focus will be on Trump's impact, and how it will affect Canada's economic outlook.
Sal has over two decades as a macro economist with BMO Financial Group since 1994, his main responsibilities focused on U.S. and Canadian economies, interest rates and foreign exchange rates. Prior to joining BMO, Sal was an economist with the Bank of Canada, focused on quarterly economic projections and foreign exchange markets. He is a regular commentator on economic and financial trends in all major Canadian media.
Sal received his Master's degree in Economics from Queen's University in 1990. He was Secretary for the Toronto Association for Business and Economics from 2000 to 2010.
